School enrollment, primary (% net)¶
Indicator id: school_enrolment_primary · Unit: % (net enrolment ratio) · Coverage: 1971-2025
Ratio of children of official primary-school age who are enrolled in primary school to the total population of official primary-school age.
Sources¶
- World Bank (preferred) -- dataset
WDI, codeSE.PRM.NENR(https://data.worldbank.org) - UNESCO Institute for Statistics -- dataset
UIS, codeNERT.1.CP(https://uis.unesco.org)
Reconciliation note: UIS NERT.1.CP ("adjusted net enrolment rate, primary, both sexes") is the same underlying UIS methodology the World Bank republishes as SE.PRM.NENR -- close agreement is expected. UIS's snapshot for Nepal runs through 2025 (vs. the Bank's 2019 cutoff here), so UIS is also the more current of the two; a gap beyond recon_threshold_pct in an overlapping year is worth flagging rather than assuming reporting lag alone explains it.
Caveats¶
Net enrolment ratio; capped at 100% by definition. Verified live for Nepal (~96-99% through 2014-2019); recent years often lag in World Bank reporting -- UIS (coverage through 2025) fills that gap.
